Honda to Unveil the Honda Elevate Mid-Size SUV: Watch the Live Debut Here
Honda Cars India is set to make a significant entry into the mid-size SUV segment with the world premiere of its upcoming model, the Honda Elevate. This launch marks Honda's first foray into the SUV market in India in several years. The unveiling event will take place on June 6, 2023, in India, and the brand aims to capitalize on the success of the mid-size SUV segment in the country, which includes popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
In the lead-up to the global unveiling, Honda has provided a teaser of the vehicle, offering a glimpse of some key details. The SUV, named the Honda Elevate, will make its world premiere in India before its subsequent launch in the Indian market and later in overseas markets. The official launch of the Honda Elevate is expected to occur during the festive season, which typically falls between September and October.
The Honda Elevate has been spotted undergoing testing on multiple occasions, and the teaser image reveals certain design elements of the SUV. Notably, it features a single-pane sunroof, an upright stance, and a strong front-end design with a large chrome grille reminiscent of the Honda Amaze and Honda City. The SUV also boasts muscular wheel arches, headlight designs that reflect the Honda DNA, and other distinctive features.
As a mid-size SUV, the Honda Elevate is expected to measure around 4.3 meters in length, aligning with other competitors in the segment. The SUV will be built on a platform derived from previous Honda models in India, particularly the Honda City, which shares similar dimensions.
Powering the Honda Elevate will likely be a 1.5-liter petrol engine, similar to the one found in the Honda City, providing the SUV with good fuel efficiency. While the City offers a hybrid option, the Honda Elevate might initially launch with a 1.5-liter petrol-electric strong hybrid unit, with sources indicating that the hybrid engine may be introduced at a later stage.
In terms of pricing, the base version of the Honda Elevate is expected to start around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), with prices potentially reaching up to Rs 20 lakh for the strong hybrid variants if they are included in the lineup.
Excitement is building as Honda prepares to unveil the Honda Elevate mid-size SUV, offering Indian customers a new and compelling option in the competitive SUV market. Stay tuned for the live debut of the Honda Elevate, where the company will showcase its latest addition to the Indian automotive landscape.
