Despite playing the villainous British Raj governor of Delhi in the film, Stevenson was cherished and beloved by the entire team, as expressed by director SS Rajamouli in a heartfelt tribute.


Expressing shock and disbelief, Rajamouli took to Twitter to share his sorrow. He mentioned how Stevenson brought immense energy and vibrancy to the sets, making working with him a pure joy. Rajamouli extended his prayers to the actor's family and wished for his soul to rest in peace.


According to media reports, Stevenson passed away on Sunday at the age of 58, leaving behind a remarkable career and a lasting impact on the industry.


Stevenson began his journey in the entertainment industry with appearances on TV shows during the 1990s. He later transitioned into action-packed roles in Hollywood films, with one of his most notable performances being Volstagg in Marvel's 'Thor' franchise.


The actor's breakthrough role came in Antoine Fuqua's 2004 adventure film 'King Arthur,' where he portrayed Dagonet, one of the valiant Knights of the Round Table. In a pivotal moment, his character sacrifices himself in battle to aid Arthur (Clive Owen) and his loyal warriors, as reported by 'Variety.'


In 2008, Stevenson secured a leading role in the Marvel film 'Punisher: War Zone,' portraying the titular mercenary, Frank Castle. The movie showcased his versatility as an actor, further establishing his presence in the industry.


Before his untimely demise, Ray Stevenson had been working on the upcoming action-adventure limited series 'Ahsoka,' a spin-off from the Star Wars franchise and a continuation of 'The Mandalorian.' In the series, he portrayed Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi who escaped Order 66 and became an ally to Thrawn, while mentoring Shin. This final role showcased Stevenson's talent and dedication to his craft.
